The Accord's 2.3-liter, in-line 4-cylinder engine is shared by DX, LX and EX models and features a 16-valve cylinder head and a vibration-canceling second-order balance system. All engines and transmissions are built at Honda facilities in Ohio. VTEC helps give the V-6 a broader, more powerful torque curve. The 3.0-liter, 200-horsepower, 24-valve V-6 is the first V-6 engine to use VTEC (Honda Variable valve Timing and valve Lift Electronic Control system), Honda's variable valve timing system.
